Some stories are impossible to separate from the places where they happened.

For the premiere of POLDI, the documentary dedicated to the life and personality of Lukas Podolski, Netflix chose a venue that carried as much meaning as the film itself: the Rhein Energie Stadion in Cologne.

The stadium has been the backdrop to some of the most defining moments of Podolski’s career. Hosting the premiere there transformed the screening into something more than a film event. It became a homecoming.

Guests including press, influencers, celebrities and invited partners gathered inside the RheinEnergieSTADION to experience the documentary in a setting deeply connected to its protagonist. The result was an evening where the line between story and location almost disappeared.
